Supporting children’s wellbeing through sensory exploration and physical challenge.

At The Parish Nursery, we provide an additional sensory room for all of our children to enjoy. This calm and engaging space offers a variety of lights, sounds, and textures designed to stimulate the senses and support emotional wellbeing. It provides children with opportunities to explore, relax, and develop their focus and concentration in a peaceful setting away from the busier play areas.

Spending time in the sensory room can help children to regulate their emotions, build confidence, and develop social and communication skills through shared, calming experiences. Whether used for quiet time, sensory exploration, or small group activities, our sensory room plays an important role in supporting every child’s overall development and happiness.

Physical Room

At The Parish Nursery, our purpose-built Physical Room has been designed to support children’s physical development, coordination, and confidence in a safe, stimulating environment.

The room features climbing equipment, a climbing feature wall, soft play at different levels, and balancing steps, providing a variety of opportunities for children to develop strength, balance, coordination, and motor skills. These activities encourage children to take risks in a safe way, challenge themselves, and build confidence while also promoting teamwork, turn-taking, and social interaction.

With this indoor space complementing our large outdoor areas, children have daily opportunities to be active, explore new movements, and enjoy play-based learning. The Physical Room ensures every child can develop physical skills, confidence, and resilience in a fun and nurturing environment.
